Why are My Headaches Not Going Away Other Symptoms as well.?
Im 17 and usually in good health up until 2-3 weeks ago when i woke up around 1am complaining of a headache.I was given ibuprofen ti ease the pain.Well not long after i had taken the ibuprofen i started vomiting and i could not stop vomiting while having a throbbing migraine. I Ended Up in the ER because i was throwing up so much i became dehydrated and had to have a CT scan. Fortunately nothing showed up on the CT scan and i was told i had a bad headache and to stay on a liquid diet for 2-3 days. They Did not prescribe anything and also told me to take ibuprofen for the pain and also to see a neurologist.
About 2 days after that had happen i was still having headaches not as severe but still quite painful and my muscles in my legs, arms, and now face and hands have this tingling sensation that will not go away. I saw my primary doctor last thursday and told me that i had no tumor, meningitis or aneurysm. So He Prescribed me 3 different medications they are as follow: Gabapentin,Mobic and Caffeine pills
The Gabapentin is for the nerves and the other 2 are for the headaches.
what is really bothering me the past couple days my neck and spine have been aching alot and i have been taking ibuprofen and nothing seems to help.
I have only been on the medication for a week and realize it takes time , im just worried thats all.
Oh and One more thing . I am getting blood work done tomorrow to rule out Diabetes and Multiple Sclerosis.
I Realize nobody on Yahoo Answers is a Doctor.
oh and the reason i didn’t see the doctor right away was because they were booked solid that week ( the week i started having all of this trouble) and had to wait the following week.
I will let the doctor know when i go . thank you. :]
Also consider celiac disease in your quest for a diagnosis. It’s more common than any of those other things (except maybe diabetes). It’s an autoimmune disease caused by gluten intolerance. All those symptoms, especially the migraines and tingling in your extremeties. Both are very common symptoms. Many doctors only think of it if you have digestive symptoms, but you’re just as likely to have no digestive symptoms at all. The incidence is about 1 in 133, so make sure you rule it out as it is very common and very frequently overlooked. You could try a gluten free diet on your own while you wait to see if the symptoms go away. It will screw with your test results, if you ask the doctor to test you, but the symptoms should go away if gluten is your problem, so it may be worth trying.
