I have been having some nuerological problems and my doctor thinks it may be MS. The only thing keeping her from diagnosing it is the fact that the MRI does not show scarring in the traditional MS areas. We’ve done at least a dozen other tests to rule out everything else out there that mimics Multiple Sclerosis. The MRI does however show scarring in other areas — small "BB’s" around the cortex areas of the brain. I have a history of really bad endometriosis. My first laparoscopy still holds the title of "worse case he’s ever seen" even 10 years later.

Can endometrial lessions in the brian cause similar symptoms to MS?

I am a month into a severe multiple sclerosis relapse that has left my right side numb and very stiff. Had IV steriods with a Prednisone taper. This helped the numbness subside about 30%, but now its back full force, with the stiffness in my leg and right hand. I take Rebif and Neurontin in the evening to supposedly help the stiffness. Does anyone take anything else for the stiffness? Or do you have any advice for this hell I am stuck in?

My daughter is 37 and just had a brain MRI. Symptoms are memory loss, hot flashes (pre menopause ruled out) and left arm and hand tingling. They said they need to do an MRA to see if it is a tumor or MS. Any thoughts on this reading? What does this mean? Thank you so much in advance.

Nonenhancing area of increased T2 weighted signal within the left parletooccipital periventricular white matter abutting the posterior aspect of the trigone and lateral aspect of the splenium of corpus callosum measuring 2cm with no associated bleed or significant mass effect and no evidence for diffusion restriction. Differential diagnostic considerations include low grade glioma, atypical multiple sclerosis or an inflammatory process.

Also, a 5mm pineal cyst.

Multiple Sclerosis?
I’m very curious and I can’t find what would happen on google. So I thought I would give it a try and ask here.

My teacher has is and she isn’t on any medication. She drinks ginger tea 24/7, i’m guessing as a sustitute. I’m guessing she might not have enough money to pay for the treatment.

I really would like to help her because she is a wonderful women . and my mom has MS too. So I guess I feel a closer connection. I just hope nothing bad will happen if she chooses not too.

She was dianosed 5 years ago. And my mom talked to her and my teacher told her she has had quite a few flare ups. (I’m not a a stalker, my mom and her have talked because they both share the condition. and I have Tourette’s. I guess that is why I want to help her.)

I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. So do you know what would happen if she is not on medication. I know, that she will continue to get worse and worse. But truthfully the only thing I’ve noticed is that she forgets somethings, but then again, everyone does. And she gets moody sometimes, but again, everyone does. But I know my mom has both of those symptoms so. I would appriciate an answer.

I know, it’s 100% up to her. But if she doesn’t have enough money, I would love to try to help and raise some, if she’s okay with it.

Thanks!!

-Alex

I have searched on yahoo answers and have found that hairloss is common after going through Diabetic Ketoacidosis, however- my hairloss continues to fall out and isnt slowing down.

In October I was Diagnosed with DKA upon admittance to the ER because my head doctor mis diagnosed my diabetes and put me on steriods which put me up to a 900 sugar level. From my symptoms, I was believe to be in DKA for over a month before my sugars were stabilized, and have been since October.

However, I didnt lose hair before November, then in November I started losing ALOT of hair. I discussed this with my doctor in November and he said not to worry about it, however because its still happening and Ive lost half my hair already and continue to lose large huge clumps of hair when I shower- I am concerned that this is growing "out of the norm" and into the problematic stage.

To be frank- I have alot of hair and its thick- so my hair appears normal now- not thick anymore. And I Have no balding spots, which is good.

Now- I know I should see my doctor, expect for the fact that I Have no job, no money and no family assistance to help me because I am an only child with no relatives with no job because I am on disability for my Multiple Sclerosis- this is why I am asking for advice from yahoo answers instead of going to the doctor because I cant afford it this month- and by next month I am afraid about losing even more hair.

So my question to you guys is- when you experienced hair loss- did you lose half your hair?
When did the hair loss stop?
By 3 months should my hair loss be stopping?

What if anything could they do if I went to the doctor?
Hair loss is not genetic in my family- so I know its diabetes related- I just dont know how to stop it!

Thank you guys soo soo much!!!
What if it started changing our genetic make up of our DNA Strand? Would you call that the Mark of the beast being an engineered 1/2 human 1/2 animal Strand of DNA

Does long term ingestion of aspartame (an artificial sweetener found in soft drinks and fake sugar… Splenda) really cause epilepsy? I found this information and more on this website
(http://www.mercola.com/article/aspartame/dangers.htm)

"The excess glutamate and aspartate slowly begin to destroy neurons. The large majority (75 percent or more) of neural cells in a particular area of the brain are killed before any clinical symptoms of a chronic illness are noticed. A few of the many chronic illnesses that have been shown to be contributed to by long-term exposure to excitatory amino acid damage include:

* Multiple sclerosis (MS)
* ALS
* Memory loss
* Hormonal problems
* Hearing loss
* Epilepsy
* Alzheimer’s disease
* Parkinson’s disease
* Hypoglycemia
* AIDS
* Dementia
* Brain lesions
* Neuroendocrine disorders"

Is this just crazy or what?

I was diagnosed almost two years ago, and the first year after my diagnosis I was taking Rebif. The injection site reactions were minimial but the other side effects (fatigue, depression, nausea) we driving me crazy. Soo exactly a year after my diagnosis, I asked my neurologist to prescribe Copaxone, because I heard it had less side effects than Rebif. I’ve been taking Copaxone for about 10 months now and, even though feel a lot more energic and less depressed, the site reactions are bothering me. I itch all day, Im embarrassed to wear shorts because my legs are permanently bruised, and I had to stop working about my abs so I could still injected my ab area. (It hurt wayy too much when I started to build a bit a muscle)

Is there anyone else that has MS, is taking Copaxone and has experiences the same discomfortable in the injection site? If so have you learned any other methods of injecting that have helped?

(I know this is kind of long but, out of curiousity) My MRIs have shown absolutely no change, no progression what so ever. Has anyone actually been taken off of their meds because of this? I know its only been a year and some change but I would be the happiest person EVER if i was told there was no longer a need for me to take Copaxone.

I had a friend. We stopped being friends because I didn’t believe she had MS. She is very fond of googling medical conditions, symptoms, medications, and there is something always wrong with her. I believe it is psychological. I always have.
She went to the hospital one night for numbness in her face, and claims within that week she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Isn’t this highly unlikely, if not impossible? Since then, shes claimed rheumatoid arthritis, fibromalayga (sp?), and a few other things. Prior conditions she has claimed, are bipolar, kidney issues, and others. Since I’ve known her since 2008, she has specifically went to doctors asking for specific medications. And has been on at least 30 different ones since then.

She has even gone as far as researching medical problems in her middle child. Supposedly hes Autistic, she was convinced he had Hirchsprungs(sp?), a gluten intolerance… And a list of others..

I’m assuming I’m not over exaggerating, but I’m not a doctor. Does this seem psychological?
